Adhesives & Sealants

We provide an extensive range of products for use in the manufacture of adhesives and sealants

A versatile range of polyisocyanates, polyols, 1K resins, foam control agents, fillers, synthetic rubber polymers & pigments, offer extensive opportunities for formulators to meet critical requirements of the adhesive and sealant industries today. Some of our key suppliers include Covestro, Imerys, Dynasol, Lanxess and Castor.

Where are these products used?

Our products are used across the board from sealants using synthetic polymers, fillers and silane terminate prepolymers to waterbased, solvent based, hot melt, solvent free and reactive adhesives using polyurethane technology, functional fillers, foam control agents and other additives.

Meet our suppliers and the products we offer in this industry

Here you can find some examples of the suppliers we work with and the different types of raw materials we supply into adhesive and sealant applications. Delve deeper into each supplier for an insight into the type of products we have on offer.

  • Blackburn Chemicals

Blackburns Dispelair® foam control agents are used in the preparation and application of a wide variety of adhesives, optimizing adhesion properties.

  • Castor International

Castor offer a range of moisture scavengers in both powder and paste form, rheological modifiers, Castor Oils and hydrophobic Castor Polyol D-1150.

  • Covestro

Covestro’s extensive range of urethanes, polyurethanes, polyisocyanates, polyols, polychloroprenes, chlorinated polymers and UV curable technologies are used in the manufacture of high-performance sealants, water-based, solvent-based and hot-melt adhesives. These high-quality adhesive and sealant raw materials are recognized globally as Bayhydrol®, Bayhydur®, Desmocoll®, Desmodur®, Desmophen®, Desmoseal®, Desmotherm®, Dispercoll® and Pergut®.

  • Dynasol Group

Dynasol supply several synthetic polymers for use in the manufacture of rubber, adhesives and sealants. Linear, non-crosslinked polymers produce excellent tack for bonding, coating and sealing applications, whereas crosslinked grades produce adhesive and sealants with a non-stringy, buttery consistency for caulking compounds, mastics and sprayable adhesives.

Emulprene™ SBR is available as crosslinked or non-crosslinked grades in both bale or crumb form

Paracril™ NBR grades include dry, oil extended and crosslinked in bale, crumb or powder form

Calprene™ SBS and Solprene™ SBS along with Calprene™ SEBS and Solprene™ SSBR can also be used as cost effective alternatives to SIS grades in some adhesives

  • Imerys

A selection of coated and uncoated ground calcium carbonates (GCCs) from Imerys known as PolCarb™, ImerCarb™ and ImerSeal™ can be used as rheology modifiers, tensile strength enhancers, toughening agents, opacifiers and whitening agents.

Natural, calcined and flux-calcined diatomaceous earth grades from Imerys (Celite®, Diafil® and EcoFlat™) can be used as extenders and functional fillers along with a range of both milled and unmilled expanded perlite grades (Europerl® and Harborlite®).

Kaolin’s from Imerys maintain good barrier effects and rheology control due to their naturally platy structures. These kaolins, calcined kaolins, metakaolins and ball clays known by the brand names Speswhite™, Polwhite™, Polsperse™, Molochite™, Devolite™ and Hexafil™ come in several particle sizes to match your application requirements.

Mica’s from Imerys are used as extenders and functional fillers and come in flake and dry ground forms which also provide good barrier effects and rheology control.

  • Lanxess

Lanxess’s Bayferrox® iron oxide inorganic pigments are available in a variety of colours including black, brown, red and yellow, as well as their Colortherm® chrome oxide greens. Both ranges provide good light fastness when used in adhesives and sealants in both micronized and powder forms.

  • Levaco

Levaco provide their Lucrachem® ethoxylated amines and Lucramul® ethoxylated alcohol surfactants which are used as polyurethane water-based rheology modifiers and wetting agents used in adhesives and sealants.

  • ShinEtsu J-Poval

Shin-Etsu’s J-Poval® polyvinyl alcohols (PVOH), ranging from partially to fully hydrolyzed grades in granule and powder form, are available to match set requirements in paper adhesives, remoistenable adhesives and plywood adhesives.

  • ShinEtsu Tylose

XShin-Etsu’s Tylose® cellulose ethers are used for rheology control, water retention and adhesion promotion, primarily in tile adhesives. Tylovis® starch ethers are also used to reduce the stickiness and skin formation of adhesives and troweling compounds.
