ShinEtsu Tylose range of cellulose ethers are used in virtually all parts of daily life

The renewable primary raw material cellulose from wood and cotton is converted into various water-soluble types of cellulose ether in ultra-modern plants. With manufacturing plants in Wiesbaden, Germany, in Plaquemine (Louisiana), USA, and in Naoetsu, Japan, Shin-Etsu Chemical Ltd. is one of the world’s largest suppliers of methyl cellulose (MC) and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC). At Shin-Etsu Tylose in Wiesbaden (Germany) approximately 500 employees are engaged in the research and development, production, sales and administration.

Where can Shin-Etsu Tylose be used?

Under the registered trademark Tylose®, these products are used in virtually all parts of daily life. The most common fields of application are the construction and the paint industry as well as polymerisation, ceramics and cosmetics.

  • Tylovis® EP

    Slightly air-entraining dispersing and wetting surfactant based on a polymer with oxirane is used for cement, lime and gypsum-based plasters, renders, mortars and troweling compounds

  • Tylovis® SE

    Starch ether developed especially for dry mixed mortars such as adhesives, plasters and trowelling compounds. This product gives higher thickening, better slip and sag resistance as well as easy workability
